Whitewater Instruction
Weekend
Description:
Champaign Canoeing's whitewater open canoe instruction program blends learning whitewater canoeing with camping and just a plain good time. We offer a progressive series of three levels of weekend canoe instruction trips, beginning with basic whitewater skills and proceeding through the most advanced instruction available is this part of the country. Our instruction week-end slots fill quickly, so get your reservations in early. Don't be left out. Participation in our instruction series does not require any previous canoeing experience. Everyone is required to start at our beginner level trip unless he or she has a formal paddling rating from a recognized canoe club. We will be "car camping" and will teach our students using canoes without gear in them and return to our camp after paddling on Saturday. The Beginner Instruction Weekend trips are designed for sixteen people with a four person minimum. Intermediate Instruction-Advanced Weekends are designed for up to ten people with a four person munimum. Check our schedule for availability. If you don't see a trip when you would like to have one, contact us and see if one can be arranged.
